I saw this article in the daily mail:

I have been using this for years - the daily mail must be behind the times!

George G eyelash treatment
I had an eyelash treatment at George G's on Kinds road today, just near Fulham broadway.
I have friends in the area and I picked up a deal using Wahanda so I thought I would give it a try. To be honest, if it wasnt for the the offer price then I wouldnt recommend it. The technician was not professional and I wasnt that happy with the results.
The location is good and the salon itself was nice, but overall I would not recommend it to anyone.

Sue Marsh on QVC
I was watching QVC and saw something that I just HAD to have:
http://www.qvcuk.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10152&storeId=10252&partNumber=400259&langId=-2
It is a device made by Sue Marsh, a pioneer of eyelash treatments, and it looks wonderful!

i-groom
After picking up the i-flick I thought I would try more from the range.
In the same vein as the i-flick, this has a pencil on one side and a brush on the other thus cutting down the contents of my beauty bag. It only comes in one shade but luckily it matches my skin tone. The pencil is waxy but doesnt form clumps. The pencil has the obligatory slant to allow either thin strokes or thick strokes, perfect if you want to ruin your look with a scouse brow I suppose.
It costs £15.50 and is available here: http://www.newcidcosmetics.com/i-groom-eyes-p-20.html

Double ended liquid and kohl liner
I picked up this liquid and kohl liner. This genius two in one device has allowed me to cut down my bulging makeup bag. The liquid side has a felt tip nib that moves with pressure giving a more precise application. It is £18.50 from their site:

Mink lashes
I have had some mink lashes applied by Kelly Hanys. The application took just over 3 hours as each lash was applied to one of your own eyelashes. I had a big event coming up so I want all out with the lashes this time. This time I had to keep my eyes closed the whole time which felt strange but she was nice and chatty.
I didnt need any mascara afterwards and the results were very flashy. I did feel that the result was a bit too fake, as I have had them done by Sue Marsh before in Belgravia and she gave a much more natural look that still stood out.
They did last a good 4 weeks before they were starting to get a bit patchy but I wouldnt have them done again.

Latisse UK
I have a few American friends in the firm I work at and they have been ranting and raving about Latisse for years. It is a drug that was originally used for an eye complaint called glaucoma but doctors were noticing that these patients using it were growing long eyelashes.
I managed to find a Latisse UK souce called Mylash. They have a website that you fill in a medical form and they email you back a link with your options of what you can order.
I initially went with 2 bottles of Latisse but I switched over to Lumigan which turns out is the original glaucoma drug and a lot cheaper. They provide a much better brush than the original Latisse as well.
You can find them at www.mylash.org

Brow threading
Eyebrows are an ever changing fashion. Thick, thin, arched, flat. The dreadful Scouse brow. I have a love hate relationship with my eyebrows. I keep trying new things - different shapes, colours, techniques - and I am never happy.
I recently had my brows threaded at the Skin Health Spa near Liverpool Street Station. I sat down with the technician who explained everything behind threading (which no one has ever done before) and that it has its roots in China but was popularised in India. She told me that my main issue is my brows are too far apart and the hair of my eyebrows are growing in the wrong direction. This is giving them less volume and is probably due to poor technicians in the past.
Normally threading is a sharp, reddening event for me but this technicians was very gentle. My brows were left with a fantastic shape and she told me where I need to grow out my brows. If you're in the Central London area I highly recommend going here as its a fantastic, honest and professional service.

extensions
I was not born with long luscious eyelashes. I am naturally blonde so require a few coats of mascara just to make them visible. Extensions are essential for me and I try to keep them in all year round.
I recently treated myself to the Blink + Go extensions at 1 Harley street. The procedure took around half an hour, We spoke about the look I want, whether its for an event or for day to day, and the colours I normally wear in both my makeup and clothes. I chose a natural look because I dont have any big events coming up (unfortunately) and it matches the way I wear my makeup.
You keep your eyes open through the whole treatment which does feel uncomfortable as your eyes water from the glue and not being able to blink often. It is strange to see your technician working so close to your eyes but not unnerving.
You cant use any oil based make up remover with these lashes as it breaks down the glue but that is fairly common for falsies. You shouldnt wet them either for 24 hours so no spa's straight after!
The lashes did irritate my eyes after a few days and a few did fall out within the first few days but this is normal and to be expected. It didnt leave any obvious gaps and looked fine.
The lashes last 10 days and you are supposed to get them removed at the salon you had them applied in. I didnt have the chance to go back but the best thing to do is to get an oil based makeup remover, soak a cotton pad and hold it onto the eye to dissolve the glue. You then gently slide them off with the pad.
